Our Values
Mentoring
We believe discipleship happens best in the context of a mentoring relationship. By connecting people on a personal level we are able to more effectively help people in the application of the various aspects of the discipleship process. We are also able to more effectively address the nuances of the physical, emotional and spiritual needs which each play important roles in the discipleship process of individuals.
Individual Expression
We value every member of the Church, as each individual offers a unique expression and spiritual gift displayed in the Body as a whole. We
believe the Church functions best when each member is operating in their God given role or expression sourced by Jesus in the context of the Body (1 Corinthians 12). As such, each of us needs one another and the particular piece of the image of God we have been created to bear. As the pieces come together under Christ who is the head, we are able to understand more fully who God has created us, His Body, to be as well as our unique mission in this world.
Relationships
We value two types of relationships, those within the Body and those outside the Body. As a missional people we have been called to join God in His redemption of all things. We believe this happens best through powerful, life-changing relationships with those who have not yet come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. In these relationships we are able to love, serve, and give ourselves freely as a demonstration of God’s love for the world and His desire for their redemption. These relationships are fundamentally different from our relationships within the Body. True community as exemplified in Acts 2 by mutual self giving can only happen in the midst of those who have received all they need already from Jesus. Being sourced by Him we are able to come freely to our brothers and sisters giving them all we are and receiving all they are in return. These self giving relationships are the foundation of the church.
The Arts
We believe God created the Arts as a vehicle for His message. You don’t have to look far today to see the effect the media has on our culture. We believe the Arts have such a strong influence because God created them to be that way. Our desire is not simply to be a replicator of creativity, but to reclaim our rightful position as the epicenter of creativity. God is the one true creator and from Him flows all creativity. As we relocate the creative expression in Christ, the gospel gains another powerful aspect of it’s voice in our world.
Compassion
We desire to be an asset and strength to the surrounding community by contributing back to the community financially and continuously meeting practical needs. It is through meeting the felt needs of individuals that the door to each others heart is opened. It has been said that the Church is the only organization that exists for the benefit of it’s non-members. We desire to live that reality out in our community.
